Rained a little in
the night and we awoke to another foggy morning.
Drove through a lot
of big farm country. Lots of cattle and lots of silage in it’s
white coating laying around like big juicy worms. Also lots of a
type of maize but often still in the paddock standing all dried out
and brown. Not just the one paddock but acres of it over 400km So not
just one farm.
The roads were all good ‘cept one which we took as a short cut through a National Reserve -Corredor Biogeografico del Calden) We drove diagonally across following a railway line. A wet sandy road with more EC launch points!!! The NR was no different to the farmlands we had been driving through all day.
We stopped at an intersection and perched by the railway lines and had a quick lunch. Filled with fuel at Naschel and my cards didn’t work.
A long cloudy days drive that ended at an easy camp on Lake Embalse San Felipe.
These new suburbs are quite common on the outskirts of towns. We assume they are government housing estates as houses are very small and identical.
We drove to the lake on bitumen turned onto a dirt track (on dusk) wended our way through scrub and horses on to the beach. The water was way out so drove another 130m down to a bit closer to the waters edge. Just stopped and we were camped. A few other people still here after their sunday at the lake. But a ways away.
Beautiful still
night
