We had some internet and I actually got some blog ready
for John to post. I seem to be behind all the time. I pulled my space
bar key apart to try and clean it but was unsuccessful. It only works
now and again and I spend half my typing time going back and putting
spaces between words.
These young horsemen and their father came past out camp herding their sheep goat herd.
Next a rider herding his horses at speed.
After
a little bit of planning and some more research we had a vague
outline of where we will head. And how we will cover Mongolia, I
think we will travel about 4000km which on these tracks may take us
a while. we only have a 30 day visa and need to leave by the 19th Sept. An average of 140km a day. Seems doable from where I sit on
the bed.
Our fist yak's
It
was drizzling a little as we left camp and continued for most of
the afternoon.
The
main road was good and we could average 70km/h however when we
turned onto the track to the Blue lake we were back down to almost a
crawl but managed the 40km in 1½ hours.
But at least the tracks are smooth.
The
blue lake was a bit of a disappointment with all its yurts and huts.
Also it was not blue because of the grey sky. Interesting layout of all
the Khans in a large semicircle with a likeness carved into the top of
a pole and a small scree about their reign.
Also
some lovely wildflowers.
John
Yeo has also been here but I did not feel anything.
John
drove us out a little quicker (the drizzle has finally stopped) than I
went in. 10 vehicles passed us going into the lake.
Most are tourists
going in to stay at the yurts for the night. John parked on top of a
saddle looking back the way we had come and down over some yurts and
their stock.
