2018-01-21 Day 262 Sun

Our 23rd anniversary. The sparkling in the fridge cooling. The plan was to stop for a early camp and have lunch by the lake.

When we got to the river the bridge was non existent that's OK, a small river, so we drove around it through a paddock but on tracks. Oh sh** a BIG river. But John undaunted went for a walk and further upstream where the river divided into two he found places to cross. I walked it, the first one ok only above the knees the second was deeper and much stronger. I had trouble returning slightly up hill. What made me feel a little more comfortable was that downstream the river got a little shallower.
We dropped tyre pressure to mid 20’s, the 4 fly fisherman watched the crossing. EC did not miss a beat. Parked close to the river and emptied out the small rear lockers to dry the items. Put the kayak out to dry.

John served up lunch with the sparkling and we ate outside under the awning. A lovely way to spend an anniversary.

Just got everything packed away when a little storm hit. Very wet and windy for half an hour.
A lovely quiet camp and a great day.
