Set out shortly after 9am. We had packs with enough for a night
out just in case my knees gave me too much trouble. I started out on
one Nurophin.
The first section 8km with only 350m vertical. A lovely walk. The poles helped me with my knees or at least it seemed that way. Quite a bit of cloud on the mountains and a little snow falling for most of the first 2 hours. The view over Laguna Piedras Blancas and glacier was not very clear with low cloud . Met an Italian walker here who we bumped into on and off all day.
A great view of the Laguna de los Tres and Glacier. Mountains very rugged. Did not get a look at Fitz Roy’s peak but still a great view.

We stopped at the
bottom of the mountain for oatcakes then up 400m vertical in a km. I
was slow so john went ahead. My left knee was pretty sore by the
time I made it to the top. A very popular walk with a lot of people
up the top.

The steep walk down
was very rough on my knee but I got down and the walk back to EC was
long and painful. Well I did make the 20 km which was great. But
tired……
As we drove out of town, Lars waved and caught our attention. Great to see them again.. They will be here for 4 or 5 days and told us Monday’s forecast is for 160km/h winds. Not a good day for walking. Hopefully we’ll meet in Punta Araneus. They need to be there on the 10th April
We found a camp just outside the Park on the river bed, and both crashed early.
