We sat around in the sun for a while trying to start the
defrost. Although it had been forecast to be -14℃ our reading was -5℃. So maybe we did do some good with the hot water in the locker by
the water plumbing last night. Although still frozen this morning we
put more hot water on the water pipes in the locker and about 11am
moved on. Great to have some sunshine and although still only -3℃
the sun felt warm.
We
wanted to camp close to Elena just south of Sofia tonight as she has
made herself available tomorrow. John met Elena when he was in Bulgaria at an analogy conference in 2009.
But
of course we still wanted to do the mountain pass, which took longer
than expected, but was beautiful in the snow. Yes come back into the
snow again. The pass at 850m was quite white and higher than
yesterdays pass. Did
not quiet make the lake but instead went off on a frozen logging
track and camped in a clearing in the pines.
Yes excitement in the camp, Water again, so we showered and pumped two heater tanks of hot water into the water tank in the hope of keeping it liquid over night.
