Packed up and left our
accommodation about 9am with our bags. Found a taxi just outside so
didn’t have to carry the bags far. Arrived
Aldatmaz and spent some time putting her mostly ship shape. We had not
done any unpacking from Australia so parts and yogurt, milk powder
all needed to find a home. We checked the compressor fuses and it was
not that. We however did find one blown fuse which we don’t know what it
it is for.
We
had our last lunch at the Aldamatz canteen and then went to the vehicle
to fill with water. Finally our good byes said I drove out the gate.
We
had noticed yesterday and again today that the new Hancook tires are much quieter
than the Michelins.
We
headed to Webasto to pick up our heater. They are in an industrial
park. John navigated me in circles as we couldn’t find a way in.
The way the witch wanted to take us was either blocked off, on the
other side of divided road or no entry. Finally we got in then we had
trouble finding Webasto. John went off on foot and came back 20mins later
after locating them.
Webasto
promptly refitted the heater and we left for a camp.
We
drove up on the new free-way and passed the new huge airport. At the
Black Sea town of Karaburun and shopped at a small supermarket for food for
dinner. We looked for a camp but the roads had gates across. Coming
back out through the town we stopped to buy some veggies, and a guy
spoke to us in very good English. John chatted to him and I went to
buy veggies. When I came back it was to find that we’d been invited
for a tea and that we could camp near his house.
I
also received a text message from a guy who works at the airport, he had seen
our truck and looked up our website. Nice that people are so
friendly.
We
spent an enjoyable evening with Israfil chatting about all sorts.
When his wife returned, who had no English, I helped her cook dinner.
A soup then stuffed egg plant. All very tasty.
