A
little rain last night which froze to the sides of the vehicle. -2.5℃
this morning. Snowing
gently as we left our camp site. John encouraged me to drive out
which I did and felt more comfortable towards the end of the track.
Back
on the road we high tailed it towards Ankara. Stopping at a watering
hole to fill with water via the hose this time
The entry "gates" to Ankara
Wonderful big mosque on the outskirts of town.
Drove
to the Turkmenistan consulate to pick up the paperwork for the
transit visa’s.
This may look like normal traffic but the two right hand lanes are parked. For a small fee A guy will look after your car and move it if the inside parked car needs to exit. John sat in ours.
Whose speedo is easy to read at 82kph??
Then back out of town to camp looking down onto
Ankara. We had tried to go higher up the old track but although rocky
the ground was very wet and we were making a mess, so reversed down a
bit and parked for the night. Lots of lights of the city was quite
pretty.
