2019-05-11 Day 226 Sat

It started to spit so we decided to leave and just as well as we did. The clay track was quite slippery by the time we were half way out. Thankfully the track was relatively smooth and very flat.
EC did not always go in the direction that John wanted….

It rain quite hard but the drainage is not very good.

Back on the road and off to Sheki where the architecture was different and there are some old caravan compounds from the silk route days.

We visited the summer palace and had an expensive OK lunch with homemade undrunk wine. Oh well it is a tourist town.
Baku is still over 200km away so drove 50km or so and struggled to find a camp around Gabala. Finally up a road we founds some spots but couldn’t actually get EC off - she just kept slipping in the mud. The embankment we were try to climb was all of 2 inches high. And I didn’t want to take a run at it. Didn’t want to get over and not be able to get back, we made camp with only half of her off the road.

There is a big building being built at the end but hopefully being the weekend and wet all morning there would be no traffic on a Sunday morning
