Stove worked and john made tea, and I then made pancakes for morning tea to celebrate having a stove again. We stayed here for a
while and chatted to a few guys that came passed. Invitations to go
back to their place for tea but we refused.
I
put some clothes onto soak and john filled the bottles from the lake
for rinse water.
Into Khujand for a SIM card and another 2000som (AU$313). A nice clean town with a lot of flowers in the streets.
The first place would
not sell me a SIM as I am a tourist. Went into Megafon and they could
sell one for 10 days to tourists. So got 3GB for 100som
Then
we headed south towards the capital Dashambe to post the paper work
to Istanbul.
Apricots are still readily available and a lot were being dried in the sunshine.
Heading back into mountains
Turning
off the main road onto a yellow we headed to Obburdon pass at 3900m. Wended our way through the village there were times when we were very unsure if we were on the
correct road but it kept going, so we followed.
Wonderful
to be back in the mountains and it is cooler. Stopping just at the base of the mountain at 2560m beside a steam but
still on the road, we made camp. We could almost see the pass. A quiet night only
one vehicle went down hill passed us.
I
did the washing and john hung it out to dry.
