A young horseman came past with a herd of horses or
rather, ponies. We
tried to converse but were not very successful. He came back a couple
of times sometimes I think to show off his horseman skills and at others
to try and talk.
Finally
we left for the capital- Ulaanbaatar.
As I was walking out the horseman came back. The lad on a different horse and some others.
One showing off in real Mongolian style.
The road making machinery here is a few decades behind Russia.
Initially
the road was good then we got to the road works…...Hmmmm
It was as the german Bikies told me, the original road is closed and traffic using on of the multitude roads on ether side.
Much
better off in the tracks along side. Sometimes there was 6 to choose
from. This race through the poor farmers crop was very smooth.
Yurts every where sometimes with solar panels, satellite dish and 4x4.
The horses were mainly in the water or standing in any shade they could find.
The trains, of which their are many, often have logs or timber on board.
The yellow road quickly deteriorated to many tracks
and we bumped along. The landscape green rolling hills, yurts and
herds of cattle, horses and sheep/goat mix.
Beautiful green rolling hills and yurts in every direction. Can often see 4 or 5 spread around the place with as many herds of animals. Most herds appear to be 3-4 hundred if sheep/goat mixture or much less if cattle maybe 50 head.
Passing thru the town of Zuunkaraa we found a little spot in a
saddle with a prayer wheel.
This track is not on our map but it was
a very busy track.
