A
good nights sleep, we had been a bit concerned coming back to turkey
as we had been visited by the cops of a night often. Then we worked
out that that had mainly been on the Black sea coast. We have not had
a visit since we have been back.
I
walked ahead again this morning and john picked me up after 2.4 km.
Although still a yellow road it was now gravel but a wide well
formed road.
In
places there was a little snow on the road and crossing on hill on the
Eastern side there were snow drifts but only one third of the way
across the road. the small village of Taskopru Yaylasi but a few cars
had been passed before us. This small village had some nice looking
restaurants and some people it had not yet been abandoned to the
winter elements.
Past
this village we were making our own tracks and there was much more
snow.
But EC she just kept on crawling up hill with no problem, A
fresh layer on a dirt road and traction was no problem.
Finally
down onto the valley floor.
This
little de-mountable mosque is the smallest we have seen.
A quick run to the red and a quicker
run up the red to Gumushane where we parked and went for a walk.
The
main street was very busy with great vege fruit and nut shops. We
found a place for lunch and just had nibbles and bread. Two young
guys sitting next to us finally started a conversation. One had quite
good English but limited vocab. He is studying to re-sit his uni exam
as last years was not good enough for being a doctor.
We
gave them the web site then they left followed shortly after by us.
We bought some beans and broccoli, apples and kiwifruit. Then into a
nut shop for some dates, black grape raisins, and almonds.
I
think we got ripped off in there, becoming too relaxed…
John
got his voda phone SIM reinstated and bought 7GB for 50TL much
cheaper than Turkcell at 6GB for 100TL including SIM.
Looking back down on Gumushane and a popup residence suburb.
As
we were leaving a guy talked to john and told him we were going the
wrong way to Adana and the Med we tried to explain with the map our
route but he told us it was blocked with landslide or something. We
ignored the warning.
We
took a short cut white across to a yellow. All sealed and a neat
little road with little villages.
Once
on the yellow we headed south. It then became a track, then back onto
seal.
Once
back on the orange we found a camp perched on a ridge half way down between road to river.
