Had a walk down to the river. A wonderful pool that trout
must love. John walked ahead and I drove out.
A
large mosque.
We missed a turnoff, where a couple of trucks were parked. When we went back one of the semi’s asked for a tow. He said he was 10tonne. We were reluctant but thought we could try.
In
4x4 I moved him up a bit but then just skidded. So we rolled on down
the hill then tried again.
For
some stupid reason we thought he wanted to go left up the hill but we
didn't ask.
I
then re-positioned to tow him over the apex and down hill. Burnt a
bit of rubber but got him over and onto the road. He went to shake
John's hand but john just pointed to me. The guy laughed then he came
around to the window and clasped my hand with both of his.
We
continued onto the dirt yellow road.
The
landscape changed and instead of brown rolling hills we saw steeper
hills covered in a sharp prickle bush. Doesn't appear to be any
farming here. A few more trees and some bushes .
The tunnel on the main road on the other side of the chasm is lit and sealed.
We finally arrived at our favorite road in Turkey. The tunnels and road were just as awe inspiring as the first time. I took videos with the phone this time.

The
Tunnel entrance to a magic 7km long road.
No mention here of height or width restrictions, and
because we are not a big truck…..
