An
interesting pattern in the rock.
Same
sign that nearly stopped us entering last time. But although we are
higher and wider it was not a problem. Just a bit tight where the
rails are.
Needed
the internet so stopped here for a while and I cooked oatcakes for
morning tea.
Caught
up with Autumn here again, nice seeing a bit of color in the trees.
Our nights have been warmer and have not needed to worry about pipes
freezing.
The
land itself has more color as well.
More
hills with very precise longitudinal cuts in them. A very fine
terracing. We think for planting trees but so many hills have been
“terraced” but no sign of trees.
Turned
onto a white road which was sealed then it became a bit muddy. Another
vehicle had been up before us and had removed the top layer of mud so
drove in their prints. We then turned off on a lesser road but it had
some gravel.
Which soon became a very new road not on our map. We
stayed on it till just before the town of Arapgir where we turned
south towards Lake Keban Reservoir. Our map indicates that this is
where the Euphrates river starts Google has another story.
Saw
some well looked after grape vines and then some bush vines.
We
found a track with a possible camp John went for a walk along it and
came back 6” higher. We decided to look elsewhere.
A bit further
down the hill we found another better track and followed that,
finding a nice camp overlooking the reservoir and the bridge.
An
early camp so I walked back up where we’d come from. A lovely
evening.
