A car parked, not far from us and the guys disappeared
somewhere, maybe off shooting. When they came back we had a chat. The guy
had good new weather resistant gear on and a relatively new rifle, he
had shot one small bird maybe a partridge. He also had a well
trained dog. His partner did not come close. We were offered the bird
but refused.
John
took the hose off tank 1 and we put the insulation on the hose then
he put it back on. He then pumped all the water from tank 2 into tank 1 and by taking just one end of the hose off, was able to slip the
insulation over this shorter hose. He then put some sodium hydroxide into the tank
with some water. The tanks are a bit dirty and we have dust particles
or an algae in our water.
Fish
farms
Finally
some trees planted in the terracing.
Sunday
I know, but about 10 guys fishing of this bridge, fish don’t have a
chance!
Off
the main road and onto another smallish one. We have found, since
heading south from the Black Ssea, we are not seeing much traffic even
on the main Orange, 4 lane, divided roads. And on the back roads we
are unlucky to see one every hour.
On
a white sealed road again heading to the top of a plateau for a camp,
we turned off that onto dirt, stopping
at this water station and filled one tank and emptied tank 2 which
had the alkaline solution and put some rinse water in.
I
walked ahead as it is a nice day.
After
cresting the rise I saw a rather new road switch backing up a very
steep rocky mountain side. I secretly hoped it was not our road.
After
John picked me up we continued into the valley. Here the road split
the left the road on our map the right the zig zag road up the
mountain. But would be very short road to our camp on top of this
mountain.
The guy on the mule I think tried to tell John the track was closed due to land fall. However we ventured up.
Was not to be- ¾ of the way up a large rock slide
blocked our way. My short cut did not work.
Persimmons YUM!
We
tried the other road, which we could not see from up the mountain, It
was the river bed and we followed it for a while and at the last
house it was no longer passable. Just jumble of rocks and boulders.
We turned and drove back out of it.
We found a camp on a corner of the old
road looking back at the mountain that was supposed to be our camp.
