2019-12-04 Day 411 Wed

We sat here all morning in the sunshine inside on our computers…..
The fog tendrils were dancing on the lakes surface.

The old cave dwellings maybe before the dam or maybe from way before then.

We considered staying the day but I looked at the forecast and rain for next 24 hours.

Seeing as we were on a bit of a track we decided to move on.

We drove through the town of Adiyaman and saw some ancient remains of graves so we turned around to check their opening hours for tomorrow.
They would be open so turned south to find a camp on another arm of the Ataturk Reservoir.

Our intended camp was 50km’s north so didn’t want to have to back track tomorrow.

We passed lots of new plantings of olives.

Some areas about to be planted

 and new stone fruit orchard

We checked out a picnic site at gazihan dere mesire alani ona pinnisular but was a mess. Had at one stage been lovely with gazebos and the rest- now just ruins. Also we were at the waters edge with some height to climb out on a wet muddy road if it rains so headed back up.

Parked just over a table drain on a flat area. Had to dig front wheels in to make flat.

Hopefully will not turn to slush in the rain. Hard to know…
