A
raining morning. We saw all the flamingos on the Larnaca salt lakes near the airport. This is where I
remember seeing my first flocks of flamingos in 1979(?)
Arrived into Larnaca and found a park and headed to the
marina. We
were not allowed in which was a disappointment. So we walked out the
wharf but could not see much.
Waked
up the streets which were all quiet with not many shops open. Found a
little shop whee I asked about a SIM. Could buy it there. Quite
expensive 3 GB for €15 plus €2 for sim card.
Then
back to the beach for a coffee.
Next we drove to the supermarket to buy for for Christmas. We found out where all the people were….
The
pork was the cheapest bit. €2.5 for 750gm.
Got
fuel on the way out of town and also gave EC a quick wash.
We drove past the old aqua duct but did not stop.
Down
to the fore shore a bit further west than last night. We settled in
for two nights.
The
sea was a bit rough and there was salt in the air when it wasn’t
rain.
A
couple walked past with a small child.
We
went out for a walk as they were coming back, A polish couple running
away from the Christmas rush. Showed them the truck and invited them
for lunch tomorrow.
