Such a
beautiful spot, and a sunny morning we decided to rotate the wheels. This time we
swapped sides as well. We stated just before 0800 and were finished just
after 0900 Just under our 1.5 hours. It was such a lovely spring
morning so we decided to stay put for a while longer.
These guys bought their run about
down to launch. They unhitched it from the horse drawn cart and hand wheeled it down
to the waters edge. John went and gave them a hand.
The two deer racing away across the ploughed paddock.
An early stork checking out it's nest.
Buildings are quiet different and stunning.
A lovely site to see grass under the tram tracks through the city.
We
had planed on being in Bucharest by 11:00 but it was more like 13:00.
Took ages to find a park then we ended up in a paid one. Although
10 lev an hour he dropped the price twice till I was prepared to pay
the A$50 for 48 hours. But we are right in the centre of the old
town… Our apartment was nice. A single bedroom apartment but with
a nice size lounge and kitchen.
Finally
settled we set out to explore and get some food.
We
sat to have coffee and cake and instead ended with a cheese platter
and wine. I had a prosecco which was nice but with a little
sweetness. We then had a wander around the old town.
Between our apartment and EC was a monument for the Jews. Always a sobering experience when one remembers what was done to them. Their friends neighbours and community turning on them.
The names of those Jewish families who were either murdered here or trucked off elsewhere to be murdered.
Then time for dessert and back to the apartment.
