Mums birthday and no internet. We left early for Caceres, where we
needed to get a passport stamp, Internet and some Brazilian currency. We found the police
station which looked locked up. However the security guard came and
took our passports off inside. 10 minutes later he came back with
them stamped. Interesting procedure no checking that we look like the
photo!
Most shops seemed to be closed. We did a couple of laps and after asking a lady in the supermarket (who found a customer that spoke English) we got directions to the Brazil bank. Finally got some local currency, went back to supermarket and bought a few things which I paid with visa card. We finally found a shop to buy a sim card but even with the shop keepers help (she spoke some english) could not register it, not having the Brazilian ID number. Finally out of town after 3 hours or so.
The country has
opened up with farm land and cattle mainly an Indian breed Nelore. The grass is
very coarse and grows in clumps. Made it to Pocone and tried to buy
some Internet off a hotel, they thought we wanted a room for a few
hours!!! When John showed the guy the vehicle he just gave us the
password for the WiFi.
We stayed in their car park for a number of hours while john caught up with some of the important Internet jobs.

Found a camp in the dark in front of a farmers gate a few km’s out of town. Lots of mozzies - glad for the screens.
