2018-03-26 Day 299 Mon

A beautiful morning

Left our quiet camp site and 55km’s back out to routa 40.
As I was filling the front right tyre I noticed a crack in the chassie......... Not sure  what has caused it we have not done any very hard drives.

Drove south for 60km then headed West again this time to El Calafate and Perito Moreno Glacier. In El Calafate we got fuel and a little food then headed the 70kms to the glacier. CL$430 each to enter the park with only 2 hours. No camping in park.

The road was windy with a neat outlook. There are a few lookouts with shelter and big window which were very handy In the drizzle and wind.

Only a few people at the glacier. The walkways were fantastic and we didn’t have time to explore them all. There is about 4 hours walking on the raised steel walkways.
The glacier was amazing and we were quite close to it. Cold and windy only a couple of degrees.

Into the truck and back towards Calafate on the northern route to find a campsite.
We finally got a camp with internet just above the township.
