Visibility down to about 10 meters. Just as well as john
got his photo last night.
I drove out about 8:30, we stayed on the levy bank for most of the way around the town. Warmer today. We drove on another levy bank beside the Danube looking for internet from Ukraine - success.
John put a hot bottle of water
on the water tank pipes, and finally water at the tap, so I washed my
shirts that had been soaking for 3 days and we both had a shower for
the first time in 4 days. It is forecast
to be warmer for another few days then cold again. Hopefully
by then we’ll be further south. Still no visibility.
The disks here are interesting. As they go up and down a paddock not around and around they need to turn the disk over on the way back so the dirt falls to the correct side.
As
we drove out on the levy bank we noticed a archeology sign called
noviodunum so drove up the track to investigate, low and behold
another car and another border patrol guard. Passports had been put
in the safe so handed over international drivers licenses and the
rego papers. All good. But he said that we couldn’t shouldn’t be
there so we left.
These wooden "Pallets" are occasionally at then end of a cropping field about 30m from the road. Sometimes there is just orange security fencing up. We have not worked out what it is for yet?
At Tulcea we stopped at a big
“Bunnings” and bought some insulation for the water pipes. An
amazing shop with just about everything. Then onto Kaufland for some
food, another amazing shop lots of cooked meats….
Left just on sunset and 15km on
camped above a small town (Nufaru)on a hill. Still no visibility.
