No visitors last night!! John hung the washing outside
but there was not much drying.
We
have thought hard about Iran and think we will go. Lots of other
travelers are still going, hitch hikers, cyclists and 4x4’s. So I
put in motion the Iran visa. We will go to Ankara to apply for that
and then the Turkmenistan one which we can pick up in Iran or
somewhere else that we nominate.
We moved on about 10:30 driving to a picnic spot north of Sinop. Would be quite pretty in summer but if all the BBQ’s are tended then too way many people for us.
Fishing is obviously allowed.
Next
stop Sinop we drove around the peninsular in an anti clockwise
direction. The outer half was all farming. Back into town where we
parked and had some lunch. I had fish kebabs which were quite nice
and John had meat rissoles. Food here is really basic. Most places
had toast and hamburgers. Their hamburger is a patty inside a roll.
Our direction now South and East. Selman told us about a waterfall and caves near by so we headed for the waterfalls.
It started raining
again. The falls cost us 15TL about AU$3.
A hydro powered flour mill still in working condition.
Quite good walkways but the
wood was quite slippery for my rubber boots.
There
was about 8 small falls spread out up the river.
I
continued driving towards the cave. At times in quite dense fog and
drizzle. Sometimes a good road at other times very rough patched
bitumen. Finally turned off onto a dirt road that had had logging
trucks on it.
A good road with some much loved stone in it. John
drove us down and we park by a very brown dam with mud all around. Not
raining when we arrived So took some photos of wild flowers.
No
mosques here to call us to prayer
