2019-05-19 Day 234 Sun

No internet here so moved on mid morning. Not such interesting hills today and the road was quite rough. At a cross road a ute stopped and the guy told us that the way we were heading was very rough and to take the other way. Then he invited us home for lunch which we declined. We didn’t heed his advice but turned back after 1km. It was becoming very cattle track like and there was no sign of other wheeled vehicles. The road he suggested was also very rough but finally turned to seal.
With the bad repair of the roads and the mundane looking hills we decided to head back to the road we came in on rather than continue further south
Back onto the highway for a short stint then onto orange to travel down the coast of the Caspian.
Spring time with all the flowers in full bloom

We tucked in beside an old shed then John went to ask the neighbors if we could stay and that was OK. It was only early afternoon so we set to to do some internet work and a few small maintenance bits.

We had visitors from across the road, two mums and 4 kids. Then another mum with her kid. The boy had his arm inside his jacket. He had caught his hand in the door and had multiple stitches. We had a procession of visitors which made for hard blog concentration.
Two guys turned up and said we could not stay but john explained and pointed that we had spoken to this house and that house and they were happy, said they were militar and then guys left.

Just as we were thinking of food our initial neighbor that john asked to stay here, came to the fence with her elder daughter and young one. The young daughter was sent through the gate with a large handful of roses, then went back to her mother at the fence for a bag of hot bread with 3 small dried sardines, and two coke bottles with milk and herbs, then back again for a pot of soup. Dinner. We gave back the tea towel the bread was wrapped in and the pot the soup came in. We gave the girl a kangaroo for thanks. An interesting meal. The soup was a quite sour, fragrant and milk based; the bread was flat but freshly baked. The milk drinks we did not touch.
