We
are still debating the wisdom of a quick drive to the east coast and
back. Or to the east coast and ship out or just to the lake Baikal
around then down into Mongolia. We could easily spend a month in
Mongolia. Decisions
decisions. Soon we’ll have to make up our mind. However
if we were to drive to east coast and back we’d need to average
250km per day. So the goal today is over 300km.
Continued our short cut to Byiysk on yellow. Started looking in earnest for
Fuso service and found two one in Barnaul which would mean back
tracking and another in Krasnoyarsk (1000km away) which is to the east and
on our way. John emailed them asking for a service on Monday.

Still some old modes of transport around but definitely in the minority in Russia compared to the "Stans"
A raised Silo.
Soviet tractors....
Huge paddocks and real machines.

Some have been harvested
The vast majority of houses in the country are built from a very plentiful wood supply.
Diary cows on there way to be milked. One never knows what will be on the road next.
Another
river camp on the inside bend of a meandering river. Drove through a
little basic village and saw some piggies the first in a while. Out
the other side and a track to the river. Camped out on the river bed
on a raised lump of sand. Didn't need to lower tyre pressure.
Did
the washing and rinsed in not so clear water. John hung them up
outside
