2020-02-09 Day 455 Sun

We packed up to leave about 11:00. As john was about to leave I realised that the large rocks would enable us to reach the roofs rubber seal. So change of plan.

John manoeuvred EC in tight against the rock. I think we have been secretly avoiding finishing this as the fist half took about 3 hours to get the old tape off. However With all the different solvents and an old tea towel ripped into strips it cleaned off quite quickly. We had it finished with in the hour.

Such a lovely spot for some maintenance.....

It was well into the afternoon but we felt we had achieved for the day. The dirt road up and out was neat with great views back down on our camp spot.

We got a great view down on the ancient city of Patara.

We drove in and paid our fee. Just had a short walk and saw the main street.

And two amphitheatre. One had a special round seat box I assume for dignitaries.
The main street now ends in a swamp.

Back out and further up the coast. It is very hard to get to the beach the hills are too steep for roads or if it is a flat area a town has been built. We finally found a small road it zig zagged down a bit but it soon came to a dead end where it had small boulders on the road and some of the road missing.

John backed out some and we camped in the middle of the track with a view of the Med.
