After a
quick walk down the hill to not-find the stone lions we left 5 mins
late.
A
quick trip back to the northern side of Datca and the ferry. We had 20
mins to wait till loading so we both had a quick shower.
Loaded
the vehicle on last and left on time. There were two cars and one
truck with its flat deck under the structure and we completely out. No
vehicles were tied down. I made us morning tea which we ate out on deck.
It
got a little rough and EC was wobbling around .. Saved us a days
drive abut 200km.
I wanted to drop a line over the side. John suggested we could use the winch to haul it in....
Got
chatting to a English guy who lives in Bodrum and keeps his yacht here in Datca as it is much cheaper. He offered for us to park our vehicle
at his place then walk back into town .
Bodrum castle
We had to back off into the main street....
We took up Robs offer. Had a lunch on the
foreshore then wandered along o the castle but sadly still more than half
closed so did not go in.
We
returned to Robs house and enjoyed a beer with him. He had found a
crew for the summer season sailing the coast in Turkey. If his crew
does not work out maybe we could join him….
We
headed north again and turned towards the sea at Gurcamler. The road
was just being graded so was good where the grader had been.
We
did not find a camp on the headland as the bush limited visibility and
old fish ponds had been dragged up and dumped up there.
We
crossed through the small village south and got to the beach. Our map
indicated a road south, and it existed, just on the beach.
